I have just retired from the University of Washington after 30 years of being an administrator in the School of Medicine, MEDEX Physician Assistant Program. Prior to working at the UW I was an elementary teacher in Mountlake Terrace.
My partner of 16 years and I have just moved to La Conner, WA. and bought a home in Shelter Bay. Retirement will hopefully allow for more boating time and opportunities to play with my two grandsons. Perhaps catch up with old friends, too! Take care everyone. Jennifer Cook |

Since graduating from Western, I have lived in Los Angles. I've taught elementary school on and off for all these years. I'm now enjoying being a librarian at a charter school and being a grandma. It's even more fun than having my three sons, which I thought was great fun. My husband, Lynn, of 41 years, and I enjoy traveling; Hawaii and Israel are the top two favorites. We're enjoying the "Marriage and Babies" stage of our children. How blessed we are to have such a rewarding life filled with wonderful family and great friends. |

After graduation, I went to work at an insurance company and worked there for 2 years. In that time, I married my husband Daniel Knudsen (Ballard Hi class of 63) in September 1965. We had 4 children, 3 living. My husband went to work for the King County Sheriffs Dept. and after 18 years, retired after a very serious accident.
We lived in the Bellevue area for quite a few years and then sold our house and moved onto a 40' power boat. We lived on that boat for a year and then sold it and moved onto a 48' CHB boat which we lived on for 11 years. At about the time we bought the larger boat, we moved to Poulsbo and lived at the Poulsbo Yacht Club until we built a house in Poulsbo and sold our boat. (The two happiest times boating are when you buy your boat and when you sell your boat).
We retired in 2000 and moved to Sun Lakes, Arizona where we are very happy to stay. Our son and his girlfriend, and our youngest daughter, her husband and two daughters still live in Washington. Our oldest daughter, her husband and 5 children live in Florida. As you can see we spend a great deal of time flying from coast to coast to visit the grandkids.
Dan and I keep very busy in our retirement years. I started quilting when we lived in Poulsbo and I have continued to quilt here in Sun Lakes. My husband is a Ranger for our local golf course, and plays whenever he wants. Around here, you can be as busy or not as you want.
I hope all of you are living the lives you want and enjoying it I know we are.

Hello class of 64' from Arlington, Washington..
It took a glass of White Zinf. to get me on this keyboard with my life.
Gotta start with after graduation, my precious Dad died of Cancer (DRAT that word) in 1965. He was only 49 years old. To this day I can cry like a baby over him!... so...........life went on... Married a Ballard High guy named Larry Halbakken, he made it home from Vietnam okay but not without problems...Our marriage ended after 14 years of marriage. We were very lucky and had one beautiful baby girl named Kari Jo.. she is now age 43...and the Mother of one daughter Tori Morgan, age almost 14, who is the light of my life!!! People that know me well call me Pammie and when she was little she couldnt pronounced Grandma so I became "Mammie". So Mammie it is!
Through out all of this time since high school, I was a Dental Assistant from Mountlake Terrace to Belleuve for 24 years and then became a school bus driver for special ed. students for Edmonds School Dist. for 20 years. Retired in 2007 and now Mammie does whatever Mammie wants!
I am not in touch with too many Class of 64 friends...except the best one. I talk to or type to my best friend ever, Sherral Kottsick-Watson-Lane at least weekly(Class of 63 IHS). She lives on Camano Island 6 months of the year and goes to her other house in Palm Springs for 6 months.
We have been neighbors and bestest buddies for 60 years (Sixty WOW)...
Oh the best part of my life I almost left out, was meeting a MAN named Michael Mackie, class of 59 Langley high school... we did not marry but lived together in SIN for 22 years before he passed away in 1998.........
Well, I have rambled on way too much, for that I am sorry..he he he ! I would love to hear from anyone out there. Wish I had the guts to come to a reunion but I don't, I dont do well alone, except in the shower.....take care everyone and take care of your loved ones....
Mammie
p.s. Life is short so eat your dessert first!!! ( cheesecake)!! |

I was married for 13 years to Bob Huber and we had two sons. Jason who is 36 years old and lives in Everett. He has worked as a contractor and carpenter. Jeff is 34 years old and lives in Everett. He has a Masters degree in Christian Leadership and is the Director for Young Life in Everett, Mill Creek and Mukilteo.
I have been married to my second husband, Dick Conner, for 21 years and we live in Mukilteo. I have found the love of my life. Dick has three sons that live close by. Mark, Tony and Curt Conner. Dick has his own company and teaches CPR and First Aid to Health Care Providers.
We have three granddaugters and three grandsons. We have had some tragic losses of family. We lost Dick's oldest son, Steve ,who passed when we were newly married. Then we lost a grandson, Bradley, and another grandson, Jakey, three years after the first. All were tragic and violent deaths. We have a strong Christian faith that has carried us through some hard times. I thank God every day for our family that is here with us.
Currently I work as a Territory Manager for a Grocery/Deli Distributor. I have worked in this field for 14 years. I love dealing with people and helping them develop new concepts for their businesses. Before this career I worked as a Sales Manager and Leasing Manager downtown Seattle and Bellevue leasing office space to businesses. I worked doing this work for 12 years.
We are very active in our church in Everett where my two sons also attend. My husband and my sons are musician. We have lots of music around us all the time. My husband has been in bands and sings all types of music. He is currently doing "gigs" for senior events. Dick is a wonderful gourmet cook and I feel lucky he loves to do the planning and cooking of the meals.
My passion is gardening and I spend most my free time in my yard and gardens. We love to entertain in the Summertime outside.
We are all well and thank God for the health we have had through the years.
It is sad to see those names of the friends we have lost from our graduating class. |

My husband, Larry, and I have been married 43 year and counting. We have two boys who are married and have 6 grandchildren. We ae very involved in their lives and consider them some of our closest and best friends.
We feel very blessed that they want us involved in their lives. Larry is an Allstate agent in Kirkland and I wear a variety of hats. I am the CFO of a non-profit preschool (Kirkland Preschool) and, for the last 20 years, I have been the Sr. Event Coordinator for the 2nd largest guild fundraising event benefiting Seattle Children's Hospital. The event is a vintage car race that takes place on the weekend closest to the 4th of July at Pacific Raceways in Kent Washington. This year, we will surpass the 8 million dollar mark in funds raised for Children's. I would never have thought that I would be involved with a race car but it has been fun and rewarding. You can find out more about it at www.northwesthistorics.com. And, I still am woefully ignorant regarding cars but pretty good at making it a fun and entertaining event!
I also served as a Trustee on the Seattle Children's Hospital Guild Association Board for over 12 years and am still active in that organization on a number of levels.
Volunteering has been a large part of our lives and we feel blessed to be able to give back to our communnity in many ways.
We have a great group of friends and Daryl and Stacie Eckland have been dear friends for almost 40 years. Although Daryl and I were in classes together at Ingraham, it wasn't until he and my husband met in the Navy that we became close friends. We enjoy skiing, traveling, wine and good food and do a lot of that with the Ecklands!
Guess that's it in a nutshell. Come out and find me at the races...they are called the Pacific Northwest Historic Races and will be held from July 2nd through the 4th this year! |

Attended UofW. Married Kim Washburn 1966.I went to Officer Candidate School at FT Knox. Graduated. Served in Germany in a Tank Unit with KIM. Got out and returned to U of W for two quarters. Dropped out again. Kim and I bought a house on Queen Ann. We divorced agreeably. My alcoholism was the cause. No children involved. I moved to Kitsap county. Attended OC for two years. Received an AA, AS, GS and ATA.
I played on the OC golf Team. Worked as an Automotive Technician and earned the ASE Master Technician credential in 1979. I married Linda Meyer in 1973. Rick and Gayle Smith (Jim Greens sister) attended the wedding. Linda got a teaching job at the CK High School in 1972 in Silverdale and is still teaching. She loved Arabian Horses so we bought seven acres in Poulsbo and srarted a breeding business. That lasted until 1993. I got a teaching job at Kitsap Penninsula Vocational Skills Center in 1985 as an Automotive Technology Instructor. I decided to quit drinking and have been sober ever since. Linda and I joined Kitsap Golf and Country Club in Bremerton in 1993. I taught her to play golf and we have won a few Couples Tournaments. I was elected to KGCC board of directors and served as Chairman of the Greens Committee. We left Kitsap Golf club after 15 years in 2009 and joined Port Ludlow Golf Club. We have one daughter born in 1980. My time at Ingraham has always been a favorite part of my life. The golf team provided great memories.
I am in good health and am looking forward to a great retirement. Rikki Puetz where are you??? |

My name is Fred Roswold, you might remember me as Dennis.
I’m 63 as I write this. I married my Ingraham High School sweetheart Vicki Tyler in 1966, went in the Navy for two years, had two lovely kids Ken & Kathy, graduated from Western, worked in IT for a few banks that all merged into one, retired early to go sailing.
Lives change.
Now my wife is Judy Jensen. We have lived on our 43’ sailboat for 23 years, first in Seattle, while we worked to save up for an extended sea cruise, and since 1996, in ports and harbors around the Pacific and Asia.
You can think of both of us as sailors.
Me, I am a sailor man who holds that he owes his obsession with boats and the sea to his Norwegian sea captain grandfather Alfred Roswold, and to his other Viking forbearers.
Judy & I have now sailed some 26,000 miles since leaving Seattle, but we don’t consider this to be a journey with a fixed destination; we're just living aboard in some different places. I'm sure we're bound for new cruising adventurers in the future, continuing this vagrant life, wandering from port to port, across different oceans and seas, never knowing where we’ll next drop our anchor.
We are now cruising in SE Asia You can follow us at http://wingssail.blogspot.com/ |

On The Eve of Our Class of 1964, 45th Reunion, Sandy and Jeff Birch:
Jeff and I are also celebrating a 45th anniversary this year -- our first date was in January 1964 after a Shorecrest-Ingraham basketball game. My first teaching assignment was in the math department at Shorecrest High School -- lots of sweet memories. Jeff and I were married in 1968 after earning our undergraduate degrees at the UW and WSU respectively. After his tour of duty in the Navy, we returned to Seattle where I taught math at Shoreline High School and Jeff finished his PhD in Biostatistics at the UW. We moved to Blacksburg, VA in 1976 when Jeff accepted a position as a Statistics Professor at Virginia Tech (VT). After earning a M.A. in Education at VT, I worked in the Department of Computer Science at VT as a lecturer and assistant to the Head. I am now retired and spend my time volunteering, playing racquetball, working part-time at our Lutheran church as the lay associate in ministry, and attending lots and lots of Virginia Tech sporting events, e.g., we'll be at the VT-Alabama football game in Atlanta in September (Go Hokies!). Jeff and I also love to travel. Some favorite places include New York City, Myrtle Beach where we enjoy dancing to Carolina beach music, the Outer Banks in NC, and Seattle where our brothers, sisters and Jeff's 92-year-old mother still live. We also love to visit with our sons, Brad (36) and Brian (32) and their families. Our sons and our daughters-in-law have blessed us with 4 grandchildren, ages 1-14. Yes, Jeff and I are living the good life in Virginia. |

Numbers have been good to Sandy and me. We started dating when we were in Mr. Oistad's Calculus class our senior year. We both earned undergraduate degrees in math; Sandy's degree from WSU and mine from the UW. We were married in 1968, and after a tour in the Navy, I returned to the UW and earned my PhD in Biostatistics. In 1976, we moved to Blacksburg, VA where I've been a statistics professor at Virginia Tech for 33 years. I still teach, manage the statistics graduate program, play basketball (my license plate is "VT NBA" for Virginia Tech 'Noontime' Basketball Assoc.), and relax at our lake cabin. Sandy and I also attend lots of Virginia Tech sporting events; football games are a favorite. We have two sons, ages 36 and 32, who have blessed us with two wonderful daughters-in-law and 4 grandchildren. Our oldest grandson will play 9th grade football this fall. We have had a very good life together in our little corner of Southwest Virginia. |

Let us begin with late June of 1964. I entered Seattle Dental Assistants and Technicians School. While in school I worked in a View Ridge Dental Office. After graduating and working for four years in the profession I decided to go back to school and seek a new direction. In late 1967 I entered Northwestern Business College and studied IBM keypunch, college accounting and business machines. After finishing classes I went to work for the Bank of Everett and three years later worked for the Everett Community College in their Data Processing Department.
I married in 1966 to a former Ingraham graduate, Mark Stewart. We had the "American Dream" - The Ranchette Home, two and a half acres, horses, big dog, vegetable garden and fruit trees. As a couple we enjoyed 8 years together before children. In 1974 our first son was born, Scott Charles Stewart and in 1977 our son John Mark Stewart was born. After 19 years of Marriage Mark decided to trade me in for a newer model. I became a single mom.
A new chapter begins - I returned to Dental Assisting to support myself and sons. It was a time of growth for me. In 1998 I married into a seven year mistake and became a single mom again.
I am so content with where I am in life.
I have served for 29 years in the dental profession and have enjoyed many travels connected to my profession. I have made several trips to Haiti to work with Medical and Dental Teams. I also had the opportunity to go two separate years to the Philippines to work with Medical and Dental personnel and teach oral hygiene to the children and parents.
I have enjoyed traveling to all the islands in the Southern and Western Caribbean. I have also visited Venezuela, Mexico, Hong Kong, Hawaii, Puerto Rico. I have fished for Halibut off the coast of Dutch Harbor, Alaska and visited Juneau and Anchorage. I have traveled to many of the US states and some places in British Columbia.
My interest in skiing took me to Mt. Batchlor, Whistler, Big Mountain in Montana, Teluride Colorado and Aspen. Great Fun!
Other interests have been camping, hiking, bicycling, gardening, road trips. I especially enjoyed fishing in the high mountain lakes of Surrey B.C.
In 2006 I became a certified Nursing Assistant and worked in caring for the elderly but changed hats again and decided to take Early Learning Childhood Education Classes.
What is life like now? CRAZY!
I now am a Child Care Provider and own Clare's House. I have cared for many children and at this time I have a 3 mo. old, a year and half old, 2 three year olds and 2 four year olds.
I continue to take classes from time to time to keep up with the teaching skills.
The profession I am in now allows me a lot of time with my one and only grandchild, Kayla. She is such a joy. Her parents, my older son and daughter in law, work hard and I am glad that I can help them with childcare for Kayla.
My younger son, John is a single guy in the Merchant Marines. He works for Alaska Tanker Company and is moving up in ranks in the engine room with the aspiration of being a chief engineer.
What keeps me busy besides my business of Child Care? Church activities, Bible study, reading, gardening and I have a home to maintain inside and out. I have not had much time to travel but love to plan and go on short road trips. I like taking my grandchild to new and fun places. We have been roller skating and ice skating and soon we will go bicycling. Having friends in for coffee or meeting them for coffee or tea.
I truly enjoy keeping in contact with friends and family. I would welcome hearing from any of my former acquaintances. The reunion committee is free to give out my phone number or e-mail address. I am also on FACEBOOK. Don't hesitate to contact me.
When does life slow down?
My hope was that by this time in life I would be living in a cottage surrounded by an English garden of flowers. I would have the tea and coffee pot on and the door would be welcoming friends and family in to say hello. Of course now it is becoming a fantasy more than a realization. I am busier now than I have been in years.
If you have spent time reading this I thank you for your interest and I am looking forward to visiting with some of my former classmates this August. Please don't hesitate to talk with me. I have a good memory and even though we may not have been in class together I am sure I would remember you in some way. I regret that I was shy and not confident in myself as it kept me from getting to know a lot of people as well as keeping them from knowing the true Claris. |

Happily married on the second go-round (15 years now!) Two grown up kids from previous marriage, 5 grandkids-son Mark gave us two ready-made boys when he married Amanda, and then adopted a little boy from China (I was privileged to help bring him home from there & it was unforgettable) and daughter Dorian & husband have a girl & boy. They are all, of course, amazing. Retired after 25 years from Merrill Lynch (just in time) but now working pt at Edward Jones to supplement travel & shopping habits. Passions (aside from family): our 3 English Setters our koipond and koifish boating (this year its up in the San Juans) and QUILTING!!I am a textile junkie. two things that I think are notable about my life: I am still best friends with my childhood best friend, Gayle Novick Kasen - class of 63 - we work out together! and I still have my penpal from 7th grade English, & actually met her in person in England a few years ago. Life is full and joyful, and I seem to be blazing through it at the speed of light. Wishing all of you well. BJ |

After high school graduation I studied at Washington State University majoring in elementary education. I also got my first œreal job that summer at a camera store down town; Coleman's Kodak. The owner of that store also had a small camera store in Jackson, Wyoming, and would fly one of his part timers out for the summer to run that store. The summer of my junior year it was my turn to work the summer in Wyoming. I loved it; the people, the parks, the wide open spaces. It was small cowboy/tourist town in a scenic mountain area. After graduating from WSU I took a job in Bremerton and taught for a year. But Wyoming was pulling at me and I gave myself a year to spend there. One year turned into four years, and after I married and we had a daughter Wyoming became home. Husband, daughter, dog and a job made for a busy life. I worked retail sales for the next fifteen years and even had my own camera store for a few years. I got totally burned out being in sales and got a job at a weekly newspaper. After another ten years at the Jackson Hole News, my husband and I turned into snow birds. Now we spend winters in Arizona and go back to our ten acres in Jackson Hole for the summer. We get to spend time with our grandkids that live there year round, and can avoid the snowy and cold winters. Winter snow was great when I was young, but desert winters are just perfect at this point. Overall life is good. |

I am absolutely mind boggled to find this great site at this point in my time/space.
I am saddened by the list of those that are no longer with us.
So what have I done with my life: good question says "I" as the mind runs thru era upon era.
I went to the UW for one year..but fell head over heals for my guy Jim Dinneen. We were married in 1965 and the journey began.
Worked at MA Bell for 2 years as a Customer Service Rep...but darn I got pregnant and that was not good for Customer Service, too much front baggage.
We moved to Portland in 1968 where daughter Cari was born in 1968 and son Patrick was born in 1973. The move to Portland lasted 18 years. I worked in banking, manufacturing and transportation. I also kept going to school, sometimes for career and many times for fun.
My hubby always wanted to play the banjo, he learned and next thing I knew we were in a banjo band..I didn't play banjo, but I did play the washboard, jug and mimed...give me a stage and I will play...something I learned at Ingraham.
We moved (for career) back to Seattle in 1986, where I found a new love...darn computers...I was a Network Administrator for 7 years...loved the job, but as happens life changes and another (family)career opportunity happens.
In 1993 we moved to the Tri-Cities (where is that you may ask)...over on the eastside of Washington..if you like wine, we are only second to Northern Califonia for vineyards and wineries.
We have 300 days of sun...didn't say it was warm, but I have learned it is beautiful.
I have worked for Washington State for 16 years, I am the Office Manager here for the Department of Transportation. Government work is a challenge and with the current economy and good health I will probably continue to work for whenever, my job is a daily challenge.
I was widowed two years ago; we had a journey of 41 years together..
My daughter lives 120 miles north of Toronto and she has gifted me with two grandsons..don't see them much, but still a gift. My son lives in Atlanta...not married,no children..but he gifts me with friendship.
I am amazed to look back to high school..only thing I know for sure is that we are all the same age...with different journeys.

I graduated from BYU in 1968. I taught school in Rhode Island and Maryland following graduation.
Paul was an officer in the Navy. In 1970, we had our first of 8 children.
We also raised a nephew, helped raise a niece, 3 American Indian children and we have had many other children in our home.
Our youngest daughter was stillborn. Our oldest graduated in Elementary Education but is home raising their five children. Our next son is a dentist and they have five children, our next son has his doctorate in Physical Therapy and they have three children. Our fourth is a son that will finish his PhD in Microbiology at Stony Brook, NY this June. They have two children. Our fifth is a daughter who graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and they have 4 children. Next is a daughter who has her degree in Pharmacy. They have two children. Our youngest is a son that recently graduated with his BS and will go on for a PhD in Neuro Science. They are expecting a baby in February.
We left for China in August of 2005 and returned this July. Paul took an early retirement so that we could teach English - Oral and Written - to students at two different Universities in mainland China. The first year, we taught at Shandong Medical University. I taught PhD students both Oral and Written English. It was a marvelous experience. When we had breaks, we traveled all over China. The following year, we taught freshman (the top .5% of all students) Oral and Written English. Again, it was a wonderful experience. We went through Brigham Young University. Presently, we are serving an LDS mission in a prison fairly close to our home. We each teach 6 classes each week and work with the inmates on a one to one basis. We are gone 4 to 6 days a week. It is most interesting.
Paul was an administrator at Snow College over the Computing Systems there.
The Christmas picture was taken in our apartment in Nanjing, China in 2006. The next is of some of our grandchildren at Thanksgiving. The last is a picture of our family when we went to Fish Lake in Utah and rented cabins.

My first love after High School was killed in Vietnam in 1966.
Later, I married a U.S. Marine pilot who was shot down over No. Korea three years post Vietnam. I was widowed at age 31 and raised my son and daughter in California where I was a Real Estate Broker for 18 yrs. My dream was to return to college where I graduated cum laude, Sociology and one yr of a Master's degree. I have seven grandchildren; all the light of my life. I read our class memorials and shed some tears for those who have preceded us. I think of some of you often, you know who you are. God Bless |

Ingrham was the thirteenth school I attended while moving around the country with my family as we followed my father's misadventures in Government Service. Must I tell you in detail what a screw up he was to have been shuttled to some of the worst spots in the U.S. plus Vietnam in 1957 - 58? Well, that's why we kept moving, he was a screw up. But it was my second year at Ingrham when I realized my mother had stopped following dad all around. GULP! Now what? I was used to leaving in the middle of class or while walking home from school - home work schmomework, I'll never be here long enough for any of this to matter I used to think (mother assumed telling me in advance of our moves would be too traumatic. HELLO! MOM!). It was Mr. Wells who guided me into the normalcy of life's routines and showed me the value and power of knowledge. But after graduating, I was right back on the trail, until the Army got me in 1966 then off to Vietnam in 1967.
In my all too brief life I have lived in hundreds of places - in 40 states and several countries, attending 13 different schools, in 12 years of public education. My grandmother, who helped raise me, was born in a covered wagon, as a great great grand daughter of Sir Walter Scott. She and I watched together as men walked on the moon. I have had more than ONE HUNDRED JOBS.
As mechanic on cars, trucks, planes and boats, soldier in Vietnam, driver, ship's captain, flying, floating and writing engineer, computer programmer/trainer, international consultant, university speaker, instructor and teacher, artist, builder, inventor, patent holder, pressman, author, publisher, editor, photographer, new car dealership manager, salesman, jeweler, homeless wanderer, Hippie and dumpster diver, I have experienced some intriguing events and gained keen insight into the human condition. Some of my experiences are documented in the 30 short stories that make up my book "INSIDE THE BOOM - One Man's Journey Into The 21st Century".
I am grateful for Ingrham and all of you who made it what it has come to mean to me. Over the years I have lost 3 of my 4 children to illness and disease and survived the trials that life in Vietnam presented. I have been a millionaire and a homeless dumpster diver both. Yet this is the most rewarding time of my life as I work daily with my wife of 15 years and my remaining son in our modest 3 person auto repair shop.
My mission now, as a citizen of the Earth, is to answer the questions. Why am I here - What can I do?
Come visit me on line and I'll share some stories with you at INSIDETHEBOOM.COM. Oh, and for whatever reason I never did share with you my FULL name - Ray Arthur Monigold (RAM). |

After graduation from Ingraham High School, my family moved to Houston, Texas (rue the day!).
I graduated college in art history, humanities, and sociology, and did graduate work in sociology, and English, with a Masters in Education, attending Macalester College, University of Houston, Erikson Institute at Loyola of Chicago, Edgewood College, and the University of Wisconsin.
I worked as a therapist with preschool students in both Houston and Chicago, taught both middle and high school English and as well as Special Education in Madison, Wisconsin, where I have been living for the past thirty years. I presently teach English as a Second Language to visiting scholars at the University of Wisconsin.
My husband, Leonard Kaplan, who is originally from Philadelphia, teaches law at the University of Wisconsin. I have two adult children, a daughter, Sarah, who attends a local tech school, and a son, Jonathan, who is a presently a post-doc at Stanford, but will be moving to New York City in the autumn of 2007. And I write.
This standard profile doesn't tell you the experience of living and being active in Houston during the civil rights and Vietnam War era, nor about Chicago, nor about life in Madison, Wisconsin – a town rich in people, lakes, and weather. My husband and I have also traveled. There is much more to our lives, but this will have to do for now. |

Hello class of 64! I live in Broadview neighborhood just north of Carkeek Park.
I have been a nurse for 38 years, and currently work as a nurse for Providence Hospice of Seattle. I have worked for the "sisters" for about 15 years, and love my job.
I was married for 26 years to a man from Anacortes, who played against Ingraham in the state tournament in 1964! But we are now divorced for six years.
I have two beautiful daughters--Stina Pena, and Annika Dragovich. I enjoy travelling, and cycling, and am soon to go to France for a bicycle adventure. I have also cycled in Ireland this July, and have travelled to Sweden, Finland, Russia, and also France a couple of times.
I enjoy Swedish fiddling, my church (Luther Memorial), sewing, reading, and running. This fall I am going to start classes at the New York Fashion Academy, in BALLARD, of all places!!! I will do the Seattle Half Marathon this fall, and have done several other half marathons but it is getting more difficult. They do give a discount for over 60 though! Give me a call--206 363 0261. |

Well, the face in the mirror is friendly and of course familiar but it looks more like my grandfather than me, or at least the image I have of myself which seems to be at least 20 years younger. Other than looking older I'm glad to be where I am now. All those feelings of not quite fitting in, of being inadequate when I was a kid have been replaced with concerns over the intentions of the men my 22 year old daughter is dating and whether those moments of forgetfulness are symptoms of senility.
At 60 and counting, I appreciate the smaller things in life: a slow dance with my sweetheart, a call from the kid, and the beauty of a quiet sunset. Although, my lifestyle is relatively tame at this stage, I feel fortunate to have retained a sense of adventure that's colored with a touch of whimsy. To celebrate my retirement (when they push me out the door) I plan on riding down the Oregon Coast on a touring bike with a few adventuresome friends.
Thanks to all of the members of the reunion committee for all of the work you've done to make this happen. I'm not able to attend the reunion this time but I certainly hope to be around for the next one. |

Hello Ingraham Grads of 1964,
Sorry Nancy and I can't be with you at Carkeek Park for the class reunion. Our thoughts will be with you as you sit around the campfire on the beach, one of our favorite things to do.
After high school Nancy and I both went to college. Nancy went a couple of years to Shoreline before becoming a professional photo re-toucher, whose job skills have been replaced by digital cameras and computers. We were married in March 1968, the end of my Junior year at the University of Washington. Upon graduation from the U of W I was commissioned an Ensign in the US Navy and we moved to Pensacola FL where I started flight training. I had a very successful 26 year career as a pilot in the Navy. I flew off carriers for 16 years flying A-4's, A-7's and S-3's. The other 10 years in the Navy I spent in and around the Pentagon as a Program Manager. During my Navy career Nancy was a home maker, soccer mom, community and church volunteer as well as working for Fairfax County Public Health Department in the Fairfax School District. We have a son Casey (born 1976) who graduated from Northeaster University with a degree in Criminal Justice and is now a policy officer!
for Durham PD in North Caroline. Casey is married to a United Methodist minister - both of their jobs are "saving lives". Our daughter Gretchen (born 1981) graduated last December with a Masters in Civil Engineer/Forensic and is working for a leading Historical Restoration firm in New York City. Gretchen's boy friend started Navy flight training last month.
When I retired from the Navy in 1995, Nancy and I thought we would return to the NW to build our dream log house and start a second career. But, the kids and their friends were in Virginia and so were the jobs. I was hired by Science Application International Corporation (SAIC) shortly after retiring from the Navy. I am currently working for SAIC as a Principal Program/Financial Management advisor on a major Navy program.
We built our dream log home on 2½ acres of waterfront property on Lake Anna in Virginia. In addition to being a home maker and care giver for her 96 year old mom, Nancy is also very active in the community and church. Last year (July 4, 2005) Nancy launched a campaign to clean up the community and remove derelict cars from Louisa County. Nancy was appointed to the At Large seat on the county's Clean Community Commission and was the lightning rod responsible for developing legislation that passed in July 2006 to eliminate derelict cars in our communities.
Best Regards, Nancy (Oden) & Dick Lear |

Lowell Jacobson
WebMaster Note: Though Lowell is no longer with us, here is the auto-biography he left us just prior to our 2006 reunion.
Shortly after our reunion, his battle with ALS came to an end. However, Lowell first took advantage of attending the reunion and along with his wife, Cassie. There he met with many of his old classmates. It was truly a highlight for him and for all of us to see him once again.
Despite his then ongoing battle Lowell was extremely gracious and following the reunion, sent us his thoughts. These can be read in our comments section of the 2006 reunion pages.

We lived in Lake City for 7 years, and then moved to Brier,WA, where we lived for 22 years. In February of 1999 we moved to our summer home on Big Lake in Mount Vernon, WA. I started my own company doing home improvements in our community.
In February of 2004 I was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) better known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. I am no longer able to swallow food. I use a BiPap machine 24 hours a day to help me with my breathing, and I am unable to speak clearly. I use an electric wheelchair to conserve energy, but try to live life to it's fullest.
I used to be an avid golfer, and feel fortunate that we were able to travel a little. We played golf in some very fun locations, Hawaii, Mexico, Myrtle Beach, Daytona Beach, as well as Arizona and other locations between here and there.
I enjoy the company of our family and friends, And I look forward to seeing many of you at the reunion. |

After marriage, the only remarkable event was the birth of my son.
Since my divorce almost 32 years later many remarkable things have occurred. Following nine eleven I sold my house, bought a motor home and drove to Miami where my son lived. Never having driven a large vehicle before I was terrified and every morning when I had to start driving again I was so scared I got physically sick to my stomach. But it was the best thing I've ever done for myself.
I've since lived in the Everglades (alligators and swamps) then drove to Texas (guns and churches). I've learned so much along the way about people of all kinds, and I've met them all. I could tell you stories about the sad and the sweet, the frightening and magnificent. It's been such an adventure so far.
My hope is that my health and finances hold out for a long, long time. Oh yes, grandchildren would be very nice. But I don't yet know where Grandma's house would be. Maybe that's the next
challenge, finding a real house (without wheels) and becoming a Grandma. |

I finally graduated UW in 1969. The army decided they didn't want me, so I went to work for Western Airlines, married Vikki, had 2 sons, Richard(36) and Scott (26).
Seventeen years with Western was enough - we became self-employed, the largest producer of door wickets on the planet.
In 1985, we moved from Federal Way to Port Angeles and have been on the North Olympic Peninsula ever since.
The wicket business declined, so I worked for two yacht builders, and I now am a remodel contractor and build furniture and columns for yachts.
We currently live on Marrowstone Island (near Port Townsend), and enjoy sailing, kayaking, horseback riding in the mountains, and watching the sun set in this very beautiful corner of the country. |

No suprises. I'm still in school, still an activist, still writing, reading, speaking out. Only now I can do it in public without blushing and actually make a sound when I laugh.
Went to college in Santa Barbara and then finsihed up at the UW in English, of course. Got an MA in Teaching (English) from Brown University which, in 1969, had a (stuffy, sexist, patriarchal, and) boring education program redeemed only by a group of very fun outspoken women students who offset the myopic and middle-aged (OMG, did I really just say that?) elite faculty who apparently had no clue what to do with a generation that wanted to save the world. Got engaged. Got married. Had cats. Really, lots of them.
Taught English at Bellevue CC (mostly high school dropouts who were women older than I and very cool even if they were called "displaced homemakers." Can you believe it?) and Freshman Comp at Shoreline CC where I started the Women's Center, ran a writer's festival, was a union vp, and, oops, got fired, apparently for being a radical ("I can't believe you said that in class!") feminist. Of course, I took notes and kept a journal so, between the faculty union and an EEOC hearing, I eventually and happily took the union folks to dinner, bought a round oak coffee table, six bentwood chairs, a piano, and my first year in graduate school.
Taught Women's Studies at the UW; 7 very long years later got a Ph.D. in higher education. Focused on women's issues. Worked in the Women's Center. Graduated, got a divorce, sold the house, kept the dog and the sewing machine, moved to Illinois, taught at a very small religious college; took a boat trip with a cute guy on a 50' 1910 18" draw old ice boat down the Mississippi and up the Ohio. Moved to Cincinnati but he forgot to marry me so I came home. And taught English.
In 1992 I went to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to direct the Middle Tennessee State University Women's Center and two years ago moved here to do the same thing, smaller scale, at the University of Hawai`i at Hilo. We work with rape, sexual assault, domestic violence and sexual harassment victims and survivors; train Housing and Campus security folks; raise money for battered women and the HIV/AIDS community. Last year, at the Vagina Monologues, I was honored as a "Vagina Warrior." I couldn't even have said the word when I was in high school, could you? In Tennessee the Bible belt got suffocating, so I went to synogogue on Friday nights (My maternal grandparents did emmigrate from Russia to escape the pogroms, after all) and church Sunday mornings; sang with a High Holy Days choir and, this spring, in Mozart's Requiem Mass. We brought Dr. Maya Angelou and Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto to town; started a student women's leadership conference; worked on issues of r!
ace and gender (at a university whose mascot was named for the Civil War general who started the KKK and, Dear God, they were still proud of him!); travelled with Naomi Tutu (the Archbishop's extraordinary daughter) and 7 other U.S. women to live for a week as Sister-Sojourners with 8 South African women, most of whom were from the black township of Khayelitsha outside of Cape Town; taught Women's Studies and the first Gay and Lesbian Studies class at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, retired from MTSU, needed to smell salt water again, and came to the University of Hawai`i at Hilo two years ago to revitalize and direct their Women's Center.
I live in the jungle, listen to the water rush through the gorge below and the coqui frogs sing piercingly while geckos snap up bugs in and outside my windows.
Come visit. It's not Paradise, but it is beautiful even, like Seattle, when it rains. |

What has happened in the last 42 years?
1964
My post graduation started with a one week-end summer vacation and then I was on a plane to Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. My military service was cut short however, it seems that I had scoliosis and it showed up while standing at attention. I was given a medical discharge and on my way home after 7 weeks of boot camp. On the way home I stopped in Boise, Id and then went to Montana where I worked on my uncle’s ranch for the balance of the summer. I stacked hay bails in the field for $0.01 per bail.
1965
I went into the Job Corps and received vocational training as an Automotive Parts Person. This training landed me a job with 3 different parts companies. The third company, in 1969, offered me a driving job picking up the used auto parts from stores they dealt with. This was the beginning of what has been a 37 year driving career with over 6.5 million miles logged. It has taken me to 48 of the 50 states and Canada plus I was in Alaska during the summer of 1963, so that makes 49 out of 50 states.
Mid October of 1965 I met the love of my life. We went on our first date on Halloween, we were engaged to be married on Christmas Eve, and married on June 18th, 1966. When it’s right, you just know it. That was 40 years ago this past June. Our union has produced 4 children and thirteen grand children. The oldest child is 39 years and the youngest grandchild is 9 weeks.
I have never had a residence outside of Washington State, but we did move to Spokane twice and back again three times. We now live in south King County. I came off the big road [the cross country gig] in 1998 and have been driving truck locally for Associated Grocers.
That pretty much covers it in nut shell.
Congratulations to all of the 1964 Ingraham High Grads,
And a moment of silence for those that are no longer with us.

After our high school graduation ceremony my parents gave me an envelope with $1500 inside and said, "Good luck. Spend it wisely."
I attended what was then Seattle Pacific college. The money lasted one quarter! To finance the remainder of my college career, I got a job working for the Civil Service Board at the U.S. Post Office. Graduation came 5 years later with a degree in English with elementary certification.
I began teaching first grade in Shoreline, then kindergarten in Marysville, and later 2nd in Shoreline. I completed my 27 year teaching career in Bellevue in 2002, teaching first grade again.
At the end of my freshman year at S.P.C., I met my husband Jim on a blind date. He was commercial fishing during the summer and attending college part-time. He went into the service, went to Vietnam, and we were married a year after he returned in 1970. We have two sons, Jeff (28) and Joel (26). Both seem to have gravitated to commercial fishing after attending college and are talking about investing in a fishing boat together at some point.
We lived in Richmond Beach for 28 years until this past summer when we moved to another community in Shoreline, into a smaller home without steps.
In retirement, I've never been busier. I'm a docent at the Museum of History and Industry and Nordic Heritage Museum (where I'm also in the 3rd quarter of Swedish classes). I've been researching my family genealogy and am in the process of writing a book about 3 of my great-great grandfathers.
I love gardening, reading and traveling. I'm currently serving on our reunion committee, helping to plan our reunion picnic in August. I
'm hopeful that the reunion will be a huge success and that many class members reconnect after 42 years! Life has been amazingly good for me!
I've been blessed! |

After graduation from Ingraham, I floated around for a while before landing a job at the King County Courthouse, from there, I went on to Boeing and worked there as a KeyPunch Operator for several years.
In that time period, I married Jim Franke - Sharon Franke's older brother. When I got laid off in the famous Boeing layoff in 1969, I had a baby and her name is Alisa Franke. She is now almost 36 and single again - wow - my baby is getting old!
Well, After my divorce from Jim (this 17 year marriage was a diaster) - I started to take dance lessons, and then I started to teach. So now, I teach partner dance at 4 Seattle Community Colleges, and I'm the Editor of the Victory Review Acoustic Music Magazine. AND I do some graphics and web sites in my spare time.
Going back in time. In 1974 I started to work for the SeaFirst Corporation, before it was B of A and for 5 years I did KeyPunch - which I hated. Then I was lucky enough to be put in a position where I was qualified enough to go into Configuration Management. I loved that job and I worked in that position for another 7 years.
Then SeaFirst turned into B of A and I left with about half the staff. After a couple of years of unemployment I went back to Boeing and worked in Configuration Management for another 5 years. I have not worked full time since my layoff in 1994.
I still live in North Seattle, I own half of my house with my partner Michael Guthrie and my beautiful cat - Ayla. I like to garden, dance, take photos and play with PhotoShop, ski and watch old movies. I'm on my computer a lot too. Michael is a musician as well as a expert in commercial art. Now for the sad part...
I lost contact with my very best high school friend, Sharon Franke in 1991. I have no idea where she is or what she is doing, nor do I have any way of finding out. I do know (since we were sisters-in-law) that she had a little girl named Heidi and last I heard she was living in Hollywood with her many dogs.
I also have no idea where Jim Franke is, nor do I care to find out! I would like to find Sharon Franke. Last I heard, her last name was Survey - yes, she married the guy she was dating in our senior year and divorced him quite a few years ago. |

Web master Mike has asked me to write a little something about myself... So, here goes.
I am the mother of a 35 year old who will marry in July, and I am soooo excited. I am also the step-mom of a 14 year old, and an 18 year old. I feel as if I've been a mom all my life, and am looking forward to being an empty nester in a few years.
I've had a couple of careers, one as a retailer for many years, and my last and final career in recent years has been that of a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist. I am in private practice and have found it to be a very interesting and rewarding profession.
I missed one of our reunions because I was busy having a liver transplant in SFO, Later, I survived two cancers. Life has not been easy medically speaking, but I have learned how resilient I am! I am also fortunate to have had wonderful support through these difficult times.
I have had great fun connecting with old friends on the reunion committee, and would encourage any and all of you to join us. Many hands make light work, and ensure lots of laughter!!
Looking forward to seeing you on August 19th and 20th,

We have also been a part of the International Super Stock Class for four years. Our car numbers being 41 or 14 in most all events.
Jeff was Champion for 2 seasons (back to back--a track 'first') at Monroe in the stock car class before joining his brother the following year sitting in father's car in the super stock division where Mark has been claimed champion.
Rick created the street dune buggie when converting from the '49 Cadillac figure 8 vehicle while the boys were just toddlers. It was admired in many auto shows locally.
I, on the other hand deal with homemaking activities, plus being a part of 3 bowling leagues
and take part in the National tournaments annually since 1980, when held at Kenmore Lanes.
Happiness and good health to all.

Brad and I moved down to Oregon City, from south of Everett, when he took a job transfer with his company, American Hospital Supply Corporation. His company has had two more name changes and now is Baxter Healthcare. Brad drives in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and sometimes northern California delivering kidney dialysis supplies to patients in their homes. He's up at 4 am and often not off work until after 7 pm--he's been with his company close to 40 years now, often overnight for work several nights a week.
Brad was one of the first to attend Nathan Hale High School--"the enemy" of Ingraham!
We've owned a two-acre farm 7 miles east of Oregon City and 7 miles north of Canby, Oregon, for 20 years (our daughter, Angie, attended Canby schools, but our address is Oregon City--weird, huh?), which we bought here in the Summer of 1985, a year after my father died from complications of a stroke he had three years earlier--he was alive long enough to enjoy our daughter, for her first four years of life and even though he could not speak from the stroke, they had some fun times together at my parents' home, next to ours, on their five acres south of Everett near Silver Lake.
It was really convenient to run over to Grandma and Grandpa's right near by. Dad never lived long enough to see her start Kindergarten, though. We took lots of photos so Angie can remember those times.
I bred and showed Arabian horses (I always had my eyes in a horse magazine in school which wasn't appreciated by some teachers) for about 25 years or more. After we sold the last four, I then began boarding Arabian horses for a man living in Portland. He is still here after about 15 years and currently has two purebred Arabian mares with us. I can ride and work with them any time I feel the urge--which would be more often if I didn't have so much to do around here. I feed them twice a day and take care of our remaining four cats (from a high of about 10 at one time).
Jim Robbins, my boarder, has had several stallions here with us over the years and I worked with them, too. Both of us are into Arabian horse pedigrees and I took hundreds of photos of the old, now deceased, horses at Arab shows since the early 1960's so both Jim and I talk Arab horses a lot when he is here.
I just showed a lovely bay gelding, Dantes Quest, for him to a potential customer and she bought him and trailered him to her home in Utah--that was two weeks ago. Dante was born here and is a three-year old--it was sad to see him leave but he left for a good home and someone who will break him to ride and give him a lot of attention. I did a lot of ground work with this horse as a wild two-year old stallion last year.
Our daughter, Angie, is 27 years old this year and just got married April 22 to Wallace Dittrich--she lives in Spokane and owns her own cleaning company called ANGIE CAN--she cleans homes, apartments, commercial facilities and enjoys being able to schedule her hours so that she can also go hiking with her big mixed-breed dog, Kia.
Wallace repairs computers and hopes to get more training and open his own shop in the future. He also has worked on vehicles for Stanley Steemer Company.
Brad and I have grown orchid plants for about 33 years now (egads!) and I just finished my second time around as President of the Oregon Orchid Society (2004/2005), a Portland non-profit organization that is a member society of the American Orchid Society, with about 200 members.
We have a 20x24 ft. greenhouse and we go to about five orchid shows a year as exhibitors and vendors. We have won some Best Plant awards and American Orchid Society certificates over the years.
I spend most of my time caring for the horses, cats, house and yard and repotting orchids. My Mom, Margit Bleifus, now 90, still lives on her own in a lovely double-wide mobile home seven miles from us at an Oregon City mobile home park. We frequently play cards and take trips to Mt. Hood or the Oregon Coast--Mom loves doing that--we do, too.
I have a 1954 Hamilton, by Baldwin, baby grand piano w/ivory keys since 2003 and have been enjoying a revival playing Rock and Roll original songs as well as getting into playing Swing music--makes me feel younger!
Brad and I also belong to the Oregon Shell Club, collect specimen shells and I have won trophies on my displays at the Shell Show every June at OMSI in Portland. The Conchologists of America Convention will be held in Portland in 2007. Rare, collector shells are unbelievably gorgeous! The public rarely sees the really good ones. The Convention is rarely in the Pacific Northwest.
Would love to hear from anyone who might still remember me!
